IVR

[ ahy-vee-ahr ]
noun

Interactive voice response (IVR) is an automated phone system that greets callers with recorded prompts and routes them based on keypad presses or simple spoken answers. IVRs handle basic self-service and direct calls to the right queue.

Limits of traditional IVR

Menu trees are rigid, callers often press zero to reach a person, and anything that needs documents, forms or multi-step actions usually ends with a live agent.

Voice AI agents

Voice AI agents understand natural speech, verify the caller, take action in back-end systems and can send a link to the caller's phone so they can view or complete forms while staying on the call.

How Ushur approaches it

Ushur's Voice-Guided Experience pairs natural voice conversation with a synchronized screen for forms and document uploads. See voice and contact center.
